MUET is an abbreviation that is often and quite prominently heard among pre-university students. It stands for the Malaysian University English Test, which is an English test created by the Malaysian government to set a benchmark for English among Malaysian students.
MUET is compulsory for all STPM (Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia) and matriculation students, as well as diploma and pre-university students who wish to pursue a first-degree programme in local universities. For STPM and matriculation candidates, MUET will automatically be a required subject for all students to take. However, at TCS, MUET is optional, but final-year students are encouraged to sit for the exam to pursue degree.
MUET is held three times a year – March, July, and November – offering a range of 4 papers that include Speaking, Reading, Listening, and Writing. |
