Technology College Sarawak (TCS) had just recently launched its scholarship drive for its Foundation in Business program, giving out scholarships to SPM leavers to mark its 15th anniversary, and it is now further establishing its position as a pioneer and leading college in the region.

In line with it’s vision of becoming a premier education provider in the region, TCS has collaborated with Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) to deliver 2 of its programmes at TCS - BBA (Hons) in Islamic Finance and BBA (Hons) in Management & Entrepreneurship.

The signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between En Azri Nor Abdul Rahman, Chief Executive of TCS and Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Su’ud, President of UniKL, was witnessed by Datuk Dr. Adham Baba, Chairman of UniKL and the Board of Directors of TCS.

According to En Azri, TCS hopes that the new programmes being delivered at TCS will help to empower the local community in finding better jobs and contributing to the growth of Sabah and Sarawak.

With an annual industry growth rate of 20%, there is huge demand for human capital in the Islamic Finance industry. Strong growth and high confidence in the industry promises employment for graduates of BBA (Hons) in Islamic Finance.

En Azri also mentioned that BBA (Hons) in Management & Entrepreneurship would ensure that TCS produces more entrepreneurs in both Sabah and Sarawak, which would mean the creation of job opportunities in the states. “This is in line with TCS’ mission of grooming graduates who contribute positively to both the global and local communities by providing employment,” he adds.

He went on to say, “Our careful study and understanding of both the students and the local industry needs has led us to choose to offer these 2 programmes by UniKL to our students at TCS, which would ensure not only the employment of our graduates, but the creation of employments by our graduates.”

Both programmes are targeted to start in August 2016 with a total of 200 students. Besides these 2 programmes, TCS is already offering Foundation in Business, Diploma in Technology Management , Diploma in Technology Management (Accounting), Diploma in Computer Science (Information Technology), Bachelor of Management (Technology), and BBT (Hons) in Computer Entrepreneurial Management with a student population of 1,400.
