TCS 13th Convocation Ceremony

Kuching: 229 Graduates from Technology College Sarawak (TCS) received their graduation scrolls in the recent TCS 13th Convocation Ceremony held at the Riverside Majestic Hotel on Saturday 12th November 2016.

The ceremony, which saw the attendance of more than 500 parents and friends, was witnessed by YB Senator Dr. Zaiedi Haji Suhaili, Member of Dewan Negara representing YB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah Bin Hj Yusof, Minister of Works Malaysia. Also present during this glorious ceremony were Encik Azri Nor Bin Abdul Rahman, Chief Executive of Technology College Sarawak, Prof. Dr. Shahrulniza Musa, Dean of Universiti Kuala Lumpur, Malaysian Institute of Information Technology and Puan Norhaslinda Binti Harun, the Head of Centre for Joint Programme, UTMSPACE, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).

26 students received their certificates for TCS’s Foundation in Business, while 130 students received their Diploma in Management Technology, 43 received their Diploma in Management Technology (Accountancy), 2 received Diploma in Computer Science (Information Technology), 9 received their degree in Bachelor of Management (Technology), and 19 students received their Bachelor of Business Technology (Hons) in Computer Entrepreneurial Management.  

For the year 2016, TCS awarded several categories for the Best Students Award and Best Lecturers Award. The Best Student Award for Degree was awarded to Raisa Emelda Anak Belaja from Bachelor of Business Technology (Hons) in Computer Entrepreneurial Management. Meanwhile, Nurhima Binti Hassan from Diploma in Management Technology was awarded the Best Student for Diploma and Lucyana Imelda Kuip received the Best Student Award for the TCS Foundation in Business programme.

Apart from that, the lecturers were also given special recognition for their service and dedication in educating these graduates. Puan Nurul Hidayah Binti Abdul Nasir and Puan Mazarina Binti Rosanawere were the recipients who received the awards and given RM300 to RM500, as well as a certificate of achievement as a token of appreciation.

TCS, which was awarded 5 Stars by MyQuest recently, is dedicated to delivering quality education to Sabahans and Sarawakians alike. In grooming the students, TCS believes in producing all-rounded graduates who not only excel in their studies, but are also equipped with the soft skills needed to succeed after graduation. In sum, many of TCS’s graduates have already secured jobs in reputable organisations with a 96% employability rate.
